Rovinj Beaches Tour – a choice of many fine beaches close to Rovinj
In this tour of Rovinj beaches, we’ll look at each beach that is within walking distance of Rovinj town.
Balota Beach
Starting at the Balota Beach which is roughly a 5 minute walk from the harbour, through the Old Town, and below the church of Saint Euphemia.
The rocks of Balota Beach are very popular, particularly in high season. People claim their space and relax for most of the day. An early start is recommended if you have a favourite spot.
Access to the rocks is from the main coastal path and down the steps leading to the sea.
This beach is especially liked by younger people because of the fun and games they have, diving from the rocks and playing in the sea.
When you need refreshments, you can be quickly at the nearby restaurants, cafes, and bars.
Mulini Beach
From Balota Beach, we take the route back through the town, and past the harbour.
You’ll pass by the Rovinj Marina, and arrive at Mulini Beach. It was built recently and is maintained to a very high standard by the town. You can hire sunbeds, or simply lay down your towel at any available spot. There are also plenty of showers available which are free to use.
Mulini Beach has two parts. The first has a concrete foundation and immediately next to it is the pebble beach. Again, sunbeds are available to hire, but behind the pebble beach is a very nice grassed area if you prefer.
Lone Bay Beach
Following the coastal path, you will arrive at the entrance to the Golden Cape Forest Park, and this marks the beginning of the most popular beach in Rovinj, Lone Bay.
Lone Bay Beach benefits from the forest growing close to the shoreline. So you get the enjoyment of the clean sea air and the scents of the forest.
Lone Bay Beach is a collection of many small inlets and you will find that each one has its individual charm.
The beaches are very clean, awarded with the Blue Flag, making this a perfect place for swimming and sunbathing.
As you walk further along the coastal path, you will come across an Aquapark, inflatable play area, next to the shoreline.
Further still is the Paradiso Beach Bar. This bar sells drinks and light snacks, and provides tables and chairs, right down to the beach. This is such a nice place to enjoy your drink, relax, and take in the wonderful view across the bay, with Rovinj town in the distance.
At this point, you are about 15 minutes walk from the town, and if you still want more, you can carry on walking along the coastal path which will take you around the peninsular, where you will discover other more remote but equally enticing beaches.
All of these beaches are within easy walking distance of Rovinj Town. Or, if you prefer, you can find many places to hire bikes or electric scooters, in or around the town.
